I am looking forward to a great year with you studying U.S. History!! As you read below, think about the responsibilities, expectations, and classroom rules that you will need to bring with you to do well in 8th grade.
Expectations:
As a member of our class I expect you to:
1. Treat everyone with respect at ALL times.
2. Work to your full potential and display your personal best.
3. Be an active participant in class discussions and group work, which means you need to be prepared for class daily.
Class Rules:
1. Be in your seat at the beginning of class and ready to work, you will not be going back to your locker to get your books or pencils.
2. Have all school materials; remember if you can volunteer to bring supplies and materials it will help greatly.
3. If you are absent, you have as many days as your absence to turn in work for 100% credit. Late assignments will be accepted, however you many only receive partial credit. Assignments need to be done in a reasonable time-frame.
4. Raise your hand and wait for permission to speak.
5. Assignments will be in Google Classroom. Daily you will complete the Daily Journal question/writing assignment. They will be periodically graded. We will usually discuss possible answers to the journal at the start of class.
6. I have Chromebooks for this course, you will be assigned a number and be expected to use the appropriate one daily.
